The Project Brief
Our projects often have strong design element and/or complex technical needs. We find there are two scenarios clients approach us with:
1. Client's that know exactly what they need and have clear pre-determined requirements
We can work directly to the brief. We formulate a quote, projects specs and implement the solution desired.
2. Client's that are looking for advice and consultation on what solution might be right for them.
We work through our own structured process to identify the client's needs in detail. Depending on the size and nature of the project, this process can range from a straightforward client meeting through to a series of consultative workshops and research.
Ultimately, the brief forms the basis upon which we deliver the project both schedule and budget. The closer we are to the client's requirements at this early stage, generally the more successful the project will be.
Specifications & Documentation
Further to the brief and depending on the scale of the project, Captive Minds will deliver further documentation outlining the design and build. At each stage, we are careful to explain exactly what this documentation means to ensuring the client is aware of what they are signing off.
Account Management
For each and every client, Captive Minds appoints an Account Manager to manage the design process from initial brief to project sign-off and completion.
The Account Manager is responsible for the smooth running of each project, managing day-to-day requirements (e.g. small text or graphical amends) alongside budget and schedule.
At every Client-Agency meeting, the Creative Director will be present ensuring their expertise is available in the conceptual, technical and creative development of the project.
Design & Creative Direction
Throughout the design process, the Creative Director keeps a careful on the project to ensure each piece of work is executed both creatively and professionally to the highest industry standards.
The design team work behind the scenes to ensure the work is carried out on time and to schedule.
From time to time, you will encounter different members of the design team who will participate in meetings to impart their knowledge and gain a firm understanding of the client's needs.
Agency Practices
All work is stored locally on an Apple Xserve Raid in a cooled secure server room with daily back-up to local disks. The only access to this server is through the secure local network or IPsec compliant VPN. An off-site back-up of the entire server is made each week.
Our web servers are housed in a Tier IV Mission Critical Data Center with 24 hour site security and fire repression systems. As standard, the servers are backed up once a month. More regular backups can be requested on specific plans.
We are careful to ensure that all members of the project team are up-to-speed with each and every project, knowledge transfer taking place so that no one individual is entirely responsible for the project.
